Having his sights set on becoming an architect, Allan began his career in the construction industry in 1991 while serving six years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a heavy equipment operator. Upon honorable discharge, Allan worked for a plumbing contractor as an equipment operator and became a plumber’s apprentice working on such projects as lab and educational facilities. In 1999, Allan began his formal training in architecture. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2003 and a Master of Architecture in 2004. In 2006 Allan became a registered architect and established his own practice.
Allan’s commercial project experience includes projects of various scope and size including University of Houston Softball Hitting Facility, Pacific Yard House Pub and Grub, DeMontrond Volvo, and HEB. Allan’s residential experience extends to new construction and renovation/remodel. His residential projects have included custom homes ranging in size from 1,500 sq. ft. to over 10,000 sq. ft for both custom builders as well as individual homeowners.
Allan enjoys working with aspiring architects. He has taught 2nd year design studio and has participated as a guest juror at the University of Houston College of Architecture. He also continues to mentor high school architectural students from Wunsche High School.
Allan enjoys spending time with his family and extends his creativity outside the office with hands on projects in woodworking and automobiles.
